Overview
A modern brasserie where Bali's ease meets the warmth and ritual of a European family restaurant.
PL8 was conceived as something different from the typical island dining experience: a warm, welcoming restaurant filled with a sense of home.
Concept
The project draws inspiration from Mediterranean traditions of long lunches and lively family dinners, where several generations gather around the same table and evenings effortlessly stretch late into the night.
Atmosphere
The interior combines Bali's laid-back spirit with European comfort and subtle references to traditional Southern European brasseries. Arches, textured glass, natural wood and soft lighting create a setting equally suited to a slow breakfast or a large family gathering.
Materiality
Rather than relying on literal Mediterranean imagery, the design speaks through atmosphere: warm materials, tactile surfaces, natural light and a genuine sense of hospitality. The result recalls travels through Italy and the South of France while remaining deeply connected to Bali.
